This made me laugh. Since I’ve started playing, the nails on my left hand are non-existent. I actually can’t stand to have them grow out at all now. This Ukulele playing thing is a crazy addiction and I love it!

I’ve been playing multiple times a day for almost a year. Why can I not master or at least marginally do bar chords? I watch videos and others make them look so easy. I’ve tried all kinds of hand, wrist, and finger gymnastics to no avail… Help!

    Hello Taimane,

Have you ever suffered from performance anxiety and if so, what have you done to quell it?
My sisters and I are going to be playing at senior/nursing homes and while we know that they
are really just happy to have us come and won’t care about any mistakes we might make, all three
of us are a little freaked out about doing it the first time.

Thank you so much! You are awesome!

Funny how I can play this perfectly, in time with no flubs until I turn on the darn recorder. Oh well, the more I do the better I will get. I did add in a note at the end – that’s my creativity for the month. 🙂 This was fun. Looking forward to next month.

Once I tune my Ukulele, how long can I expect it to stay in tune?

Thanks, Andrew. I saw the feedback and it is much appreciated. I fear I have formed a bad habit and I know exactly what you mean by holding it in the correct manner. Certainly does put much less stress on one’s fretting hand. Can’t wait to get home and work on that!

OK….been playing for a month. I can’t keep doing retakes…just have to go with what I have. This has been great fun. Everyone has done so well!

OK..well, the file was too big so here is a link to watch it.

OK, I’m also a beginner, just about a month with my Ukulele. I love this site and love seeing all the talented people. My goal was to be able to play Hall of the Mountain King well enough so that you could really tell what it was. I recorded it multiple times today and flubbed every time. Then, when I didn’t record, played it all the way through, no flubs. I must have performance anxiety. Did I want to scream…yes. I realize it doesn’t matter. I’m going to record it one more time and upload, flubs or not. It truly is inspiring to see all the great talent on this page and I do aspire to be that good some day. Thanks, Andrew. Of all the YouTube channels that I subscribed to when I got my Uke, yours is the one that drew me in and has kept me coming back. You are an awesome teacher. That is all! Laura
