brettboyParticipantHi Ukulele Friends!
I was super excited to write a new original ukulele song for this Challenge.
This tune is called OPERATION: -G-C-E-A-
It is Heavily influence by the American band ” Man… or Astroman? ” I’ve been a big fan of their extraterrestrial surf-rock, garage-punk since I was just 14 years old. This recording features me playing a tenor, and two baritone ukuleles. The drum track is by one of Garage Band’s bots 🙂

brettboyParticipantCongratulations @deadbuggy You rocked this Challenge 🙂
2 Weeks ago I posted a rough “take 1” of Smash the Windows to make the deadline for this Irish Music Challenge… BUT I’ve still been working on it everyday!
Please check out this “take 2” – It’s faster and smoother! I’m quite pleased with this one 🙂 Happy Spring/Autumn to all my Uke Friends out there!!!

brettboyParticipantSalutations Uke-Friends.
I’ve been working on this fun arrangement of Smash the Windows this month. But I got a late start and have been really busy. This video is a bit rough. I think I still need several hours of dedicated practice but I have to work all day on March 30 and 31 so here’s my best take 🙂 I plan to keep workin’ on it because I really like this arrangement and want to really learn it!

brettboyParticipantAwesome! That is similar. We went from not really thinking about the Uke… to obsession!

brettboyParticipant@gi_gi_ I started playing guitar around 12 years old (I’m 42 now). I got pretty good but I hit a plateau in my late 20s early 30s when I had young kids and I was really into tea and tea culture. Making music was not a big part of my life during those years.
I’ve been into the Uke for 9 years now! Before 2015 I never had any interest in the ukulele. In a way I have Marie Kondo to thank for getting me into the instrument. A friendly regular customer at the teashop I worked for asked me one day, totally out of the blue, if I wanted an old ukulele. She said she was reading The Art of Tidying Up and getting rid of things in her house that no longer sparked joy 🙂 I said “sure, why not, I’ll give it a try” – And I’m so glad I did ’cause once I started messing around with it I quickly fell in love.
