cornishdptParticipantI went with green tea this month and although it wasn’t too challenging in itself, it took me a while to get to a cleaner level because I have to reach with my pinkie for some of the notes with playing backwards, which took a while to get semi comfortable. Apologies for the baby monitor going off during the song…
Love the little peanut uke! Great prize for this month!-

cornishdptParticipantHappy holidays Andrew and all of my fellow classmates,
Kind of hard finding time during the holidays with my schedule to practice, but I made it happen. Sry for the quality of the video this month but my only real free time was during my lunch at work. Yes, I keep my waterman uke at my office (glad that my co-workers put up with me). The neck is thicker than my cordoba, which makes playing a little difficult and not as clean as I would like.

cornishdptParticipantHere is my entry for the month’s challenge. Sorry for disappearing the last month or two. I’ve been learning the fretboard and some of the beginning tunes instead from the site. Still having issues with the cords at the end o.k. speed, but I thunk I’m starting to almost sound like a beginner now. Thanks as always for the inspiring videos,

cornishdptParticipantHello Taimane,
First, I just wanted to say that I loved the clip online that Andrew posted of you playing. I’m a beginner and I am finding it difficult to build up any speed with strumming or clean fingerprinting. I know that I need to be patient, but being a drummer for 25 years makes it a bit frustrating to me. Are there any exercises out specific routines that you use to build up speed?

cornishdptParticipantI decided to learn both songs this month since I brought my waterman with me to the beach while on I had a weeks vacation. Here is aura lee.

cornishdptParticipantHere is my attempt at the July challenge. Was a little trickier than I thought to switch back to finger picking after the strumming. Sry about the ending, I couldn’t help myself.

cornishdptParticipantI hope that you are able to copy and paste this because I’m having problems turning it into a link.
This is my first month as a member and I just have to say WOW! I starting teaching myself the uke 5 months ago and when I saw this challenge, I thought there was no way I could even learn the beginning song because it was intimidating to me. After thinking for a few days, I decided to just go for it and surprised myself. So thank you Andrew for the challenge. As you can see from the video, I am a lefty learning to play on a righty uke since a lefty uke costs 4 times as much and it is impossible for me to strum with my right hand. I figured I could reverse the tabs and chords in my head. Maybe I’m crazy, but I have been loving what I learned so far. Will keep practicing the next few days and will try to post a better version before the deadline.

June 3, 2017 at 10:45 pm in reply to: Ask Me ANY Ukulele Question for Chance to WIN a Kala Uke #11908
cornishdptParticipantHi everybody. I’ve been watching videos for the last few months from rock class and decided to finally join. I’m a new uke player, going on 5 months now (my new years resolution) but actually a drummer for the last 25 years so my theory is remedial… I know, bring on the jokes.
I guess my question is, do you have any quick tips or tricks that you like to Give to students to help them learn the fretboard? I guess this question could qualify as a 30 second or 30 minute answer.
Also Andrew, I have been a physical therapy for the last 13 years and want to wish you the best on your recovery. Let me know if you have any questions.
