@The_Bumble_Bard thank you for sharing this! I thought the song was good, and then I started reading your story and it just got better and better lol. Out of curiosity, have you considered doing any writing? Maybe you already have? I like your writing style and humor you inject, even in things as simple as a question you’re asking for a live lesson. On the side I recording voice over work, like audiobooks and such, and your style of writing would be so fun to bring to life!

@dianna I am not going to lie, I learned that song right when it first dropped on Rockclass101 and have been waiting for it to be a monthly challenge!! lol Also, that is NOT in fact the new uke. Funny story, but I have wanted a Kanela’e for a while now and I ended up seeing a great deal for one on E-bay, and of course, just a couple of days after it arrived in the mail is when the announcement came out that I won the challenge! lmao. Guess I should have waited a little longer… But I chose the custom build with a low G, so now I have two and I am very happy! I will for sure be showing it off when I get the custom built ukulele!

I love the way this song sounds on the ukulele and how it was arranged! Another classic I just had to learn.
Oh and if you are wondering about the goofy smile at the end, sometimes people tell me I don’t smile enough in my videos. So there is reasoning behind it lol

It’s not my favorite song either lol, but it’s a good one to have in the repertoire! And was a nice challenge 🙂

Also, I wanted to do harmonizing cords, and wanted to have two videos together with me playing both parts like is done in the lesson. But syncing the timing is proving to be more difficult than first anticipated. Anyone else have this issue? And/or does anyone know an easy fix to make the process easier? Thank you 🙂
JustinZelda games are indeed magical! lol I also played the old disney games on the Genesis at friends houses when i was a kid!! lol
I wonder, can you post photos on these forums? If so i believe I have a picture or two of Rocksteady and Beebop when they were pocket sized that I could scrounge up. lol
And I agree! There is a lot of truly amazing and beautiful music that has come from Video Games. Far too many to recount!
For my second entry this month I went with the “Feel Good Strumming”. Tons of fun to play, but also is a big challenge! I really struggle with the finger shapes in this one, and add in the chuck and the muting the strings on the up strum. I need a lot more work with this one, but I also wanted to dive into another mini lesson this month! lol
