jinajupiterParticipantCool, but miss your admissions though 🙂
jinajupiterParticipantHey Becky, I meant the venue, I keep seeing the same venue with the most amazing view popping up in all sorts of vids of various Hawaiian artists. There is also a vid with Taimane but inside with the exact same carpet. So despite pf absorbing sound and dust it is also carrying all this great talents. A magic carpet. :). So where is this place, is it a TV studio, a recording studio, a concert place…. and so on.
jinajupiterParticipantI found an artist from Nepal, although the musical emphasizes more the singing then the ukulele accompaniment I found this traditional Nepalese song interesting enough to share.
And two Brazilian ukulele players playing choro or chorinho. A style from the turning og the previous century, normally played on cavaquinho for the melody and on guitar for the accompaniment and the contra melody. Flor Amorosa. Lovely Flower.
Enjoy. 🙂

Yihaaa we are all getting better and better, so nice to see everybody progress!September 29, 2019 at 1:35 pm in reply to: Participate in the September 2019 Member Challenge – Next Level Strumming! #30973
jinajupiterParticipantI AM A PREMIUM MEMBER 🙂
That was fun. Feel like getting a banjolele too.
But will focus on the uke bass first.
I have to admit that I turned the Mid and Low down at the mini amp because the C string was very dominant.
jinajupiterParticipantThanks Stephen, I’ll try that.

jinajupiterParticipantHey Andrew,
is there an audible difference between triplet and fan stroke? I understand that triplet stroke is
index down, thumb down, index up and fan stroke is
pinky down, thumb down, index up,
so the only difference is the first of the triplet.
But is that audible?Another question I asked earlier in this thread, how do I make the melody pop out,
especially with the triplet strum? With me it gets buried under the other chord notes.
jinajupiterParticipantWhat beautiful crystal clear sound and great playing!
Thanks fir sharing.September 17, 2019 at 6:22 am in reply to: Participate in the September 2019 Member Challenge – Next Level Strumming! #30684
jinajupiterParticipantBravo Brenno!
I’m only half-way this exercise. Really hard!
On the vids on YT I see the players of this style holding their uke or banjolele very high up the chest to keep the strumming arm more or less in the same line as the strings. I tried that and it gets much easier indeed.
Because of my anatomic model the uke slips all directions so I loose time to go from one technique to the other.
Maybe I should put the drill into my uke and add a strap button or become an Amazon.September 16, 2019 at 7:08 am in reply to: Participate in the September 2019 Member Challenge – Next Level Strumming! #30675
jinajupiterParticipantWow Stian! Impressive. 🙂
jinajupiterParticipantWow Rickey! Did you enjoy? The movie? Not standing in line of course.
jinajupiterParticipantSuddenly thinking of another aspect that I know from playing accordion, but can be applied to ukulele performance as well, think about whether you will sit or stand while playing. If you are going to stand, practice the songs standing because it’s quite a different feeling. Probably more dynamic while strumming, but harder while finger picking. B.t.w. I hardly have experience performing with the uke, but so far I shared some of my personal experiences of performing in general.
Good luck Robin and Rickey and whoever will perform. 🙂
jinajupiterParticipantJust wanted to share 🙂
jinajupiterParticipantHey Robin, that is so cool! Keep us updated. 🙂
Is it possible to replace C#m for C#m7 in the song?
That is just a barré on the 4th fret and easier to grab fast.September 13, 2019 at 1:14 pm in reply to: Participate in the September 2019 Member Challenge – Next Level Strumming! #30632
jinajupiterParticipantUfii, I started this 5f2, so hard to make the melody pop out.
Especially because it’s the last note of a strum most of the times.
Do you have an advice Andrew?
This technique must sound great on banjolele.
And for the triplet technique, it’s opposite of what Jake is telling.
But nevertheless challenging to learn this too. -
