@the_bumble_bard love the smiles. I have to make a correction that “how great thou Art” is a favorite but it was “be thou my vision” that I learned and love. Has some quick cord changes when I first started playing… love to hear any songs you have worked out.
How great Matt worked at your level. I think I’d be a nervous wreck too. I rarely play in front of family
Sorry about your piano. Get a used keyboard! There are some nice ones these days. However it would take away from Uke time 😉
I’m hoping to post STUDY IN B MINOR. Don’t think I’ll get through Adelina. It is really difficult. Play on !@the_bumble_bard yes I did hear the “call and response”. I meant to express that clearer. I would get frustrated trying to write tabs. How nice you were able to work with Matt! You obviously have an “ear” for music.
I will def look at How Great thou Art.
Wouldn’t a challenge with hymns be fun??? We did one with Christmas theme. Maybe we could learn yours?

When I entered my first challenge last April, I put in sooo many hours of practice and then the filming was a huge struggle with 50 takes at least. I was so frustrated I even mentioned to Andrew that the site had “professionals” entering… I had to realize we are all on the same journey and some a little farther along but we all took the same steps. @TBB I like that you are so honest and a previous post you showed your progress with foibles included 😉
@dianna had to laugh at your confession… the fact you have completed that many is great. I have to confess I went back on youtube and delete one of my entries because I was embarrassed looking at it after a few months of improvement!
I keep learning from all of you and it’s so much fun… off to practice. Loving the classical lessons and giving the Study in B minor a shot.

And @The_Bumble_Bard keep on strumming 😊@The_bumble_bard Nicely done! I love that hymn. The harmony and response when sung is so pretty. Love your arrangement. I had “how great thou art” stuck in my head when I first started playing 4 years ago but the best I could do is strum the cords… maybe I’ll go back and take another look. I think hymns can be so pretty on the uke. But I love a broad array of music being of a more senior group here 😎
Keep playing. LouisaSo much to absorb from the Classical course. THEN trying to implement into Danse Paysanne is a challenge. I really like the piece, which is why I chose it. Enjoy the way that Stephen teaches and love the sound of a low G.

Louisa@dianna I am so glad you mentioned the retention of the songs/challenges we have entered. I too was feeling as if I was lacking because I couldn’t remember some of the song that I had practices 100 times and thought, how do others do that. The comments that others made on how they do come back quicker with the music in front of you. It’s even funny how your fingers just pick up the next note sometimes.:-)
Congrats on your 12th month of entries! I too am about to post my 12th consecutive entry! Exciting.
@gi_gi_ yes Matt had good points in his q&a lesson. I have a few fav’s that I play regularly but need to add more – Louisa@katazumiri excellent entry! Love the bass and at the slower pace made it seem more “ dark”. Very cool.
@TBB AND @gi_gi_ , ladies I’m always impressed with your entries and you gave me inspiration when I posted my first entry last April.
We all have self doubt but we keep practicing :).

Thank you @Andrew for positive feedback. I give you the credit to my slow but gradual improvement! I can honestly say practice is the answer to playing. You and your team keep it fun and interesting. The members make it enjoyable being a part of the group. I truly look forward to seeing the familiar member entries.
We ALl struggle with recording and getting a decent “take” after 20-50 tries… but bit by bit… it might only take 15 tries 🙂
Thanks RC101. LouisaMy February entry – Navigating the fretboard. Not much time to practice and had a slip in middle but loved the birds singing in background so posted this link. Camping in Florida… the good life. Thanks for the mini lessons Andrew, perfect way to work on a technique.
