I tried Gymnopédie this month.

This is another one my dog liked. I could tell it was improving when he stopped leaving the room when I practiced.

Thanks, Stephen! I was afraid I’d screwed up on the rhythm — it’s the first time I’ve used that sort of a slap so it’s lovely to hear I managed it. I’ll work on those other spots.

Hi,

Here is my The Christmas Song — a bit hesitant in places but I wanted to post it before Christmas was over. I mixed and matched a bit with the versions. (I don’t mind it being a bit late — the main thing is that I had impetus to work on it enough to actually record it 🙂 )

Wow! Thanks for the feedback, Steven! I’m really happy to know I’m on the right path. I enjoy the piece and will keep at it til it’s smoother 🙂

One thing I found especially challenging was the pull-off with the 4th finger, especially on that uke. I’m finding that, if I make sure the finger isn’t straight, it helps.

Thanks so much for the feedback, Andrew! I was only uncomfortable with a couple of my pauses toward the very end of the piece as I wondered quite where I was in the piece and they’re already disappearing :). I really enjoyed the arrangement.

Hi,

Here is my playing of Wonderful Tonight. I found it interesting since I had to fight zoning out a bit as I played and forgetting where in the piece I was. There is a bit of pausing at the end as I do that and that will disappear as I play it a bit more over the coming month. My two dogs liked this music and would often settle nearby as I played.
