I’m all soprano, with 17 frets. I tried a concert but had to take it back. I’m not sure I have the size a chance (it had other problems). Anything bigger than concert causes problems with stretches even when I try in the store.

I think when I buy a low G sometime soon, it’ll be a concert. I keep telling myself no new uke until Andrew has posted two low G songs at my level. ☺

Thanks Andrew! I play along with the on screen tab viewer daily, so it must be helping.

    Next up, lullabies.

More first timers I see. This must be a record!

I love that there are some first timers in this challenge. Welcome to monthly challenges!

Here’s mine. I got frustrated with it and squirreled over to another song for a bit. Bar chords continue to plague me, and pull offs on bar chords are a no go. But at least I’m not cheating on pull offs anymore, that’s good. I also learned the triplet strum for this song, which is cool. Showcasing it on a bar chord, not the greatest. The long pick up note is not just terrible timing, but my little attempt at interpretation. 🙂

Anyway here’s what I made of it. It was fun even though it was harder than expected!

Hannah, that was amazing. Really you’ve only been playing a couple of months?? You surpassed me on this song for sure.

I’m sure Andrew will chime in on the triplet strum. I googled it and found some help on that. There’s a youtube video by jake that helped me.

    Awesome job.

Hannah, I hope you join us! Even if you just record a few bars, it’s fine and it’s super motivating. No judgement. Just fun.

Nope, it’s not a new uke but it’s buzzing like mad, on this song only. User error somehow. Thanks for the feedback. I’ll keep on keeping on!

Ok, here’s my Saturday morning Day Dreaming.

I memorized it in a flash, which gave me the false sense that it would be easy to learn. I’m struggling with melody B especially though, plus some annoying buzzing on melody A.

The change from F to Em is a disaster although I’ve done it a zillion times, and bar chords plague me. I’m starting to get pull offs, but not when on top of bar chords.

Any and all feedback is welcome and appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Andrew. I hope you feel better. Living with chronic pain is terrible.

But this is a great substitute lesson. People have questions, if that other question thread is any indication. For my part, I think it would be cool to put this week’s activity on a regular rotation and give your arms a break from time to time. Thanks for all you do!

I’ll be posting Day Dreaming. It’s proving harder than I expected…

Not me pup. I squeeze and wiggle and slide every which way but the E string is always dead. Glad you figured out something that works for you. I’ll be watching for more suggestions.

Hi sholmz. When you’re in the lesson, in the page with the video lesson on it, there’s a link below the video that says Download Tablature. E.g., go to Ukulele Songs on the bar above the forms, pick your favorite song, click to open, and look for that link. That’s your tab.

Wow, 4 months awesomestrings? That’s amazing. I’ve been playing a year and I practice until my fingers are sore but I still can’t get those bar chords down. You’ve got talent.

Awesomestrings, where ate the bruises? I’ve played through sore fingers but not sure I’ve gotten to bruises.

F-Em-F-Em-F-Em… That is my Sunday morning.

What are y’all struggling to master?

On day dreaming, I’m stuck on getting to the Em faster, and with the pull offs of D7. I have to do them 6 million times. Not all of us are as quick at this as tittle (impressive!).

    Just making conversation. 🙂

Uh-oh. When you get your low G ukulele, Andrew, I might have to get a low G ukulele. 🙂 And so the collection plans to grow again.
