stinyukeMemberI usually have difficulties, when I do a pull-off to a Barre chord. For e example I have a barre chord on the second fret and do a pull-off on the second string from fret 3 to 2. The string usually sounds like muted. What can I practise to make the sound cleaner?
Thanks a lot!April 30, 2019 at 6:50 am in reply to: Participate in the April 2019 Member Challenge – WIN a Kanile’a Tenor Uke! #26926
stinyukeMember@Andrew thanks a lot for the great comment. I’m already working with the fingerpicking etude no.11 and it really helps to contol my right hand. Even tough it feels weird because I already got used to the other way of playing.

stinyukeMemberI AM A PREMIUM MEMBER
Here is my submission for the April challenge. I learned “Stand by Me” which turned out was a bit too difficult for my level to learn. But i thought about what Andrew said about stepping out of the comfort zone and try something new. That’s what I did and I still have a lot to work on it. There are still a lot of string noise, accidantely plugged strings, keeping the volume while doing the hammer-on/pull-offs and black outs while playing. Slowing the whole song down helped a little bit but I’m still not quite happy with it.
I’m back in Switzerland after traveling for 10 months in Canada and the US so i thought a mountain background would be nice for my first submission while i’m in Switzerland 🙂
I’m very curious about the feedback. Thanks a lot for watching.

stinyukeMemberI work on “Stand by me” for the monthly challenge which is an excellent song to work on hammer-on and pull-offs. There are two parts in the songs where I find it difficult to keep the volume steady:
1. Bar 28: I strum a F#m chord and than have to add a hammer-on with my pinky on the 2nd fret of the A – String. I feel like there is not enough space to place my pinky on the A string because I have to keep my ring finger on the second fret of the E-string to let ring out the chord.
2. When I have to play two or more hammer-ons in a row on the same string. For example on String A: 0-2-4. The sound gets softer after the second hammer-on.
I hope my question is not too confusing.
Thanks a lot!
Christina

stinyukeMemberHi everyone!
Here is my submission for the March challenge. I’ve learned “Red is the Rose” which I absolutely loved to learn and loved it even more to play. I remember I tried to learn it about 4 months ago and I couldn’t follow the lesson as it seemed to difficult. Now I tried again for this challenge and it felt much easier! 🙂
For this month’s submission I’m going to post two Videos:
– In the first one I’m playing with my friend @robins57 while she is playing the harmony on the harp.
– In the second video I’m playing at Peggy’s Cove in Nova Scotia, Canada. I started my travels with my boyfriend around North America here last June (where I met @robins57 btw). Now I came back here before we go home to Switzerland. It was difficult to find a spot where it wasn’t too windy, so I apologise for the video quality.
