stinyukeMemberHi everyone

Well done on everyone’s submission! 🙂
Here’s my submission on “The House of the Rising Sun”. I found it much more challenging than it seemed to be because of thw ghost note strumming pattern. I first practised the song with just normal strums to get thw rythm then i put it in the ghost notes.
When I practised the harmonic at the end some questions came up for which i couldn’t find an answer: why does the pitch get higher when you play an harmonic on the 7th or 5th fret? And is it possible to play a harmonic on the hole neck of the ukulele? I tried it on the 10th or 11th fret but i just couldn’t do it there.
Thanks a lot and happy strumming 🙂

stinyukeMemberHi everyone
A very last minute submission. The reason why i’m submitting so late is that I was waiting for my new ukulele to arrive. It is a birthday present from my boyfriend to my 30iest birthday. As I wanted a low G on it I waited for it to arrive so could present the song on the new one instead on my old soprano.
I loved to learn the song. You can put a lot of emotion it which I tried to do during my playing.
Thanks for watching and I appreciate any comment 🙂

Oh and btw: now I’m a member of Rockclass101 for 1 year. When i look back what I was able to play 1 year ago and what I’ve learnd in that time I just feel very grateful and happy that I found Rockclass 101. I wouldn’t be where I am now without Andrew and all the teachers. Thank you!
Happy Halloween

stinyukeMemberAndrew, will it be possible to learn Helen’s Theme with a Soprano? I have my low G on a Soprano and I noticed that one chords is going up to the 14th fret. I guess it will be possible to play the same notes on the lower parts of the neck?
stinyukeMemberWow Rickey! Vey nice played and sung! What a nice gesture! Love it!

Here is my submission for this month’s challenge. I had a small blocking in my fingers in the middle and in the end, but otherwise I’m quite happy with it.
I tried to do a small mixture of Andrew’s hard ending and the intermediate ending by adding a Hammer On-Pull Off combination at the end 🙂
@brenna loved the performance with your son! 🙂June 3, 2019 at 1:13 am in reply to: Participate in the May 2019 Member Challenge – 2nd Chance to WIN a Kanile’a! #27908

Now I finally made it. In the very last minute. It was a very busy month with a new job, and very little time to practise, that’s why I choose one of the easier songs, but I realised that it’s not that easy how I expected. But it’s still fun to play.
So here is my submission. Far away from what i would like to present:

stinyukeMemberHi Matt
I’m not sure If I understand how to do the harmonic on fret 12 in “When I’m sixty four” I tried to do it as you explained and release my finger as i Strum down but it sounded more like a accidental pull-off than a nice sound. What I did for now while practising was to barre fret 12 and strumm from string 3 to 1. Would that work too? What should be the difference between the harmonic and just strumm it? Thanks a lot for your help! 🙂
