Hi Edward, this is a Tie:
A tie is a gently curved arch connecting the heads of two notes of the same pitch. Ties indicate that the note should be played once and held for the length of the initial note’s value plus the connected note’s value.

Unfortunately, our first winner ukuleleloo has been MIA. After reaching out to her 3 times without response, I have decided to select a new winner. I will be adding a rule to the next challenge, in that the winner must respond in 1 weeks time, or a new winner will be selected.
