lisadmhParticipantGreat job Rickey! This looks like it was fun to learn. I can’t figure out the singing piece, so kudos there.
Go Blue Jays! 😀
lisadmhParticipantThis is probably the area where I feel like I’ve made the most progress over the past year or so. I memorize much easier. Still an effort, but they come together a lot faster and I can put away the tabs. Maybe it comes with time? How long have you been playing?

lisadmhParticipantCinichol, here’s a how to practice lesson. I think it says something on there about dividing your time. I too get a little obsessed with the challenges. I mostly do the challenge plus a little rotating through some previous challenges to keep a few songs fresh. I have maybe 8 our 10 songs I rotate through, but that’s maybe a quarter of my practice time. I’m not saying that as advice. I’m prolly not practicing right!
lisadmhParticipantQuestion about low G. The G seems to have a lot more sustain than the other strings, which makes it overpowering and kind of annoying. Is that normal? I’ve got aquila strings on a mediocre Kala tenor.
lisadmhParticipantAwesome. Looks like I get low g this month after a all. Added challenge, I strung my tenor to low g, and it’s huge for this soprano player. We’ll see if I can manage it.

lisadmhParticipantI AM A PREMIUM MEMBER
I’m posting again because I’ve cleaned it up a bit and because I forgot to put the premium member tag last time. Not perfect, and a little slow, but here’s what I’ve got. I slowed down one bar for dramatic effect (*cough*).
Fun song!
lisadmhParticipantHey Andrew. Is it possible that the flamenco song actually works on low g? I’ve been trying every song I can muddle through and they’re all funky, but the flamenco might sound okay? It has one small melody run on the g string but maybe it’s okay?
lisadmhParticipantSo I can’t get beyond bar 4 of moon but I put the low g string on anyway. I love the sound in theory but I have no idea what to do with it!
Any suggestions for an existing song, below level 3, that would sound ok with low g?

lisadmhParticipantTabs are posted now. It is indeed beautiful. Great job! But way too hard for clunky old me. Flamenco it is. Moon will go I my wish list for when I’m better.
lisadmhParticipantFabulous job! That one’s on my wish list but I’m not there yet. I’ve played with the intro and it’s a fun one.

lisadmhParticipantAmazing prizes! I want low G So bad but level 3? Not sure, I might have to go for La Ganita. It’s pretty cool too. Another tough month but it’s worth it!!

lisadmhParticipantThanks Stephen. That backing track is really helpful. Oddly I had trouble slowing this one down and the tab viewer somehow didn’t feel right on this one-usually I love it but I think I got Evan’s sound so stuck in my head I couldn’t slow it down.
The backing track sounds great with it and I can more easily find my problem spots. Bar chords and dead notes of course.
Anyway I’m back on track. Thanks!

lisadmhParticipantThanks Rickey. Sometimes we’re our own worst enemies! The updated post was a decent amount better though.

lisadmhParticipantI’m afraid I might have bitten off more than I can chew this month. I slow down, I loop, bit it’s not cleaning up. It’s been super fun and I’ve practiced a lot but I’ve hit a brick wall.
Andrew, do I need to start learning the beginner tune to earn my entries?
Edit for a slightly better take:
