nthibodeMemberThe chord itself on the ukulele is good, it’s the playback on the Tab Player (in synthetic mode) that sounds like it’s playing the wrong chord.
nthibodeMemberPrendre Un Enfant by Yves Duteil is one of my mom’s favourite songs. I would love to learn a fingerstyle version and play it for her on Mother’s Day next year (since it’s a song about caring for your children). I think it would sound great on the ukulele, though it would likely need to be abbreviated as it’s a bit long and repetitive.

nthibodeMemberHi @Andrew, I’m working on the Star Wars Medley. In synthetic mode, bars 3 and 4, the G(1) chord doesn’t sound quite right. Am I wrong?
nthibodeMemberNice @planetfink!
Hi Andrew, just started working on the Star Wars Medley. In synthetic mode, bars 3 and 4, the G(1) chord doesn’t sound quite right. Am I wrong?

nthibodeMemberlol, @lisadmh — my partner (and kids!) vetoed Tonight You Belong to Me because of the kazoo part. I think I’ll be doing Wipe Out!

nthibodeMemberThat was beautiful, @jinajupiter! I really enjoyed it.
Always been a fan of your work, @brettboy, since I joined in December and saw your playing of We Three Kings. Keep it coming!
Thanks Andrew!! The monthly challenges keep me motivated and working hard. Love them!
All the best,

nthibodeMemberThanks @jinajupiter! It’s great that you notice the details in your playing and things you want to improve — it gives you something to focus on. Have fun!

nthibodeMemberThanks @lisadmh! Must be the sunglasses 😉 I’m looking forward to Matt’s live lesson on ‘playing with finesse’; I’m curious to hear what his tips are. What I find works best for me is learning the piece by heart so well that I don’t have to think so much about the notes and can ‘focus’ more on being relaxed, if that makes sense. I also have a tendency to sway to the music a bit and try to keep my hands relatively soft/loose. Hope that helps!

nthibodeMemberI enjoyed learning Here Comes The Sun this month. I would love to keep fine-tuning it, but I need to prepare for my daughter’s 8th birthday and pack for our family trip to Niagara Falls. Busy times!
As always, keep up the great work everyone! See you next month.

nthibodeMember@Andrew – I also have a question about Here Comes the Sun. In the Tab Player, there seem to be a couple of timing discrepancies between the recorded audio and the synthetic version:
1) The last note of bar 2 (and then again in bar 6, bar 34) is held longer in synthetic than in the audio.
2) The strummed A chord in bar 21 is also held longer in the synthetic than in the audio.
I’m leaning towards following the synthetic/music notation, but was wondering if we should just choose whichever one we prefer? Listening to the original Beatles version, it’s unclear which timing is more accurate.
Thanks!

nthibodeMember@rickeymike I was wondering the same thing :).
Nice playing, @robinboyd and @planetfink!
