    Hi @xerxes.

I can feel your frustration, and I can relate to it. I definitely remember being a beginner and everyone talked about all these techniques that were supposed to be obvious but they weren’t obvious to ME. I remember thinking “everyone disparages the island strum, but I can’t even DO the island strum!”

I started learning long before I found RC101. I did some stuff on Ukulele Underground, Ukulele Hunt, private lessons, the Ukulele Teacher Youtube channel, and so on. It took me years, but I gradually pieced it together. Once I got here, I already knew a lot of the really basic stuff that they talked about, so I can’t direct you to where to find it on this site, but I’m sure @andrew will be on here to help with that at some point.

With regard to strumming patterns and singing, while there is a little bit of stuff here, that isn’t the main focus of RC101. I vaguely remember Matt talked about finding strumming patterns in one of his live lessons, but I just looked through the back catalogue of live lessons and I couldn’t find it. Maybe @andrew can direct you where to go. It takes a bit of demonstration, so you’ll really need a video to see how it’s done. I first learned it through the beginners course on UU+, but I’m not even sure if it’s the same anymore. They’ve changed a whole bunch of things over there.

Anyway, try not to stress if you don’t get it all right away. It takes time. And don’t be afraid to look at other sources as well. There are lots of teachers that have free lessons on Youtube, including Matt and Chris from this website.

Another resource would be to book a few one-on-one lessons with Stephen. That way, he can answer your questions directly so you don’t get too frustrated trying to look things up.

FWIW, like @evapaju, I really like Reds. I didn’t suggest them, though, because I know some people have breakage issues with them, and if you already have those sorts of issues, they might not be right for your uke.

If @andrew says that tune is intermediate to advanced-level and you can play it that well, I think that must be what your level is! That was beautiful!

Hi Pluribus. I don’t think there is a course as such, but there are a few tunes that were arranged for the baritone. You can find them here: https://rockclass101.com/songcategories/?_sft_post_tag=baritone

Otherwise, you can go to “ukulele songs,” check the “baritone” box, and hit the search button.

    Hi Charles,

It looks like this. You can see why I’m confused.

Make sure you use the second version I sent you. I messed up a chord in the first one.

I’m sure it would be fine to start a thread. Check out Matt’s arrangement of Puff the Magic dragon on RC101 as well. It’s a bit tricky when you get to the strumming section, but you could get away with just playing the picking section.

I’m sorry. I still don’t understand. What title? What page?

    @evapaju – I second “To Zanarkand” – That’s an inspired request.

Like @kanae926 said, strings are very personal, but I also wanted to add Martin M600/M620 strings to your list. I’m loving them on my low G concert uke right now.

I honestly have no idea what you are talking about but Uke Hunt is pretty good. Just don’t say it quickly.

Having said that, here is a better version of The Wheels on the Bus. I switched out one chord and made it reflect the US variation.

Ah, thanks. I misunderstood what you are saying. I think Suzanne would be a bit more of a challenge to tab out than The wheels on the Bus.

I just did share it! It took all of 5 minutes to tab it out.

Just out of interest, what is the one that you were looking for? This is the only one I know…
