As someone who played long in a baroque orchestra, I could not get myself to strum in the middle of a fully classical piece, sorry. ;P
So I went for legato for Melody A&B and staccato(ish) for Melody C to create some contrast…-

biancakParticipantThanks, Andrew, for the feedback.
You are correct, some notes got rushed or were too short giving some wobbliness within bars… I was just glad being able to piece the 4 different parts together (as I practiced them separately for the first weeks) and play them at a similar pace. But I could also hear the unevenness that you mentioned… 🙁
That is something that I can spot only when listening back to my recording but that doesn’t mean I can immediately correct it, too…February 28, 2022 at 3:22 pm in reply to: Participate in the February 2022 Member Challenge – Theme: Strumming Songs! #51049

Here’s my submission for this month.
This was quite challenging but I also learnt a lot. Thank you for the arrangement!
I just wish the first/last section wasn’t so muffled in sound.
And when watching the video back I noticed that I still have a tendency to pull strings E & C downwards… 🙁 Not a big issue with this piece but something that I’ll need to work on to correct…February 8, 2022 at 3:39 am in reply to: Participate in the January 2022 Member Challenge: Celebrating 500 Lessons! #50798January 31, 2022 at 2:54 pm in reply to: Participate in the January 2022 Member Challenge: Celebrating 500 Lessons! #50645
biancakParticipantLast minute practicing a million times today and my fingers got so stiff by the evening that in the recording I can see and hear my fingers getting stuck in the grace notes and a few other chords 🙁 + the memory fails…
But then it is the first time that I haven’t run away from Evan’s arrangement. 🙂
So I feel I have achieved something after allI am a premium member

Here is my quick no practice submission as I had zero time this month but didn’t want to break the habit of submitting every month. Thank you and the team for a great year of learning and improving!

biancakParticipant@morrieuke1 that was really really great!
@gi_gi_ and @robinboyd what helped me was to always try +5% and -5%, too, I mean compared to what felt maximum comfortable. If I tripped over at the same spot always in all 3 tempos that meant memory failure (within a section or when joining sections) or wrong finger use with either the left or the right hand => telling me what to focus on, what to put on loop for practice.
Hope this helps.November 20, 2021 at 5:58 pm in reply to: Participate in the November 2021 Member Challenge – WIN $2,100 Kanile’a #49303

This was such an enjoyable challenge. Really had fun learning it. Never used the play along function as much as with this one, gradually increasing the speed, testing where memory or fingers fail…
Recorded with 85% speed (90% or more would have been just rushing after the rhythm trying not to trip over while 85% still allowed thinking and preparing…).
Further practice could surely improve the tone of some of the notes, but I have to say I’m really proud of this already 🙂
Thank you for the arrangement!October 30, 2021 at 6:56 pm in reply to: Participate in the October 2021 Member Challenge – WIN $2,100 Kanile’a #49040

Should have practiced more to correct that the second pull-off pulls the whole string sideways and “off tune”. But busy month so remains as is today, I’m afraid.
The tune stuck into my head completely 🙂
biancakParticipantThanks, Andrew 🙂
