lisadmhParticipantThanks for the feedback, Andrew. It’s true, certainly parts of the song naturally get louder or softer. I will try to work with that and put some more intention behind it.

I may repost later, better, but I’m posting now to take the pressure off. I think it’s decent, but it’s never good enough. Help me make it better please!
What I like about my rendition is the variation I’ve got going between arpeggiated strums, strums, and plucks. It’s a little different than the performance video but it’s interesting I think. Am I wrong? 🙂
I looped a theme an extra time but it’s still my best take.
Nice song. It’s going on my Low G set list.
lisadmhParticipantI love your song! It’s very smooth and meditative, then bam, it wakes you up. Great vibe. I’d play it for sure.
lisadmhParticipantLove it! Thanks for sharing with is. It sounds great.
lisadmhParticipantHey there. Kanilea’s budget brand is Islander. They have solid wood ones in your price range. I love my MSS4 Islander.
That said, they’re are as many opinions as there are people. If you’re in a part of the world where you can go to a store and try some out yourself, that would be best as it’s all about what you like. Of course, that’s not possible everywhere these days. I’d be comfortable buying an Islander without trying it.

lisadmhParticipantWoo-hoo! Congrats deadbuggy!
lisadmhParticipantThank you! I’ve been playing for 4 years, all 4 of them here at RC101. It’s only recently that I’ve been able to learn some songs faster. It used to take the whole challenge month for me to pull something together.
lisadmhParticipantThanks Robin! I used to always agonize trying to get songs up to speed, but now that I sometimes can, I find I like a lot of songs slower and more chill.
lisadmhParticipantThanks Andrew. I’m going to keep this one in my repertoire. Just my kind of tune. The last 2 etudes have been perfect.
lisadmhParticipantWelcome aboard, Ashley! I look forward to your lessons.
lisadmhParticipantWhat about something by Enya? This would probaby be level 10, but it has interesting potential with percussion bits.
lisadmhParticipantSounds great, Nora. I’m working hard on this one too. I love it.
lisadmhParticipantHi Baileysr. I’ll agree with Robin. I was actually gifted a 5 string, and it is lovely, but I really don’t play it much at all because I’m a picker and it doesn’t really work with either high or low g songs when picking. It sounds great with strumming, but alas, I don’t strum.

lisadmhParticipantThanks Andrew. If I don’t squeeze as hard as I possibly can, I get dead strings, which is all that much more obvious with the arpeggiated pluck. I think I need to lift finger weights to build strength.
lisadmhParticipantHey there. My perspective is, get the pattern down and move on applying it to songs. It has taken me a few years to get songs up to speed, and often I’m still too slow no matter how much I practice. 70% is very respectable. Speed comes with time… sometimes lots of time.
