lisadmhParticipantSounds beautiful! I want to learn that…
lisadmhParticipantThat is amazing for 9 months. You have talent. Thanks for sharing!

lisadmhParticipant@Andrew, thanks for the feedback! This one feels so good to play, but it never sounds as good when I listen back. All the same, I love playing it. I want to try more soloing. It’s a different skill set.
lisadmhParticipantHey Justin. Welcome to the class. 🙂 I saw your entry in the challenge and you did a great job. Glad you’re joining us there. See ya around!

lisadmhParticipantOkay, so I’m no Evan. I’m no Nathalie and Brettboy either. But I tried! I’m a little embarrassed to share this, but I’m worried I won’t get a better take by the end of the month because I have a lot going on. So here’s where I’m at. Be kind, lol.
Super fun tune to learn. I love the soloing. Also super hard to get it timed with the rhythm section.

lisadmhParticipantHi class. I’ve already entered this month, but Etude 1 has been my go to song since very early in my uke days, a few years now, and it would feel wrong to not post it now that is finally featured.
You’d think it’d be easier to get a clean take at this point, lol. But alas… Here’s another “I guess it’s good enough” recording from me.
This is for anyone who is interested in understanding more about the baritone sound. I was just gifted with a lovely baritone and I’m loving how all my old songs sound new again. So here is Etude 1 on the baritone uke.

lisadmhParticipantOops, I messed with your song, @Andrew. I took Morning Dew, and embellished it. I got a little inspiration from Matt’s Deck the Halls, of all places. I played it slow and mellow, by choice, not at all because I can’t speed up a certain phrase that I added, lol.
Here is Morning Dew with a Lemon Twist. Feedback welcome on both the embellishing and the execution.
lisadmhParticipantSounds great, Robin. It’s cool to see the transfer of uke skills to guitar. I don’t hear any mistakes!

lisadmhParticipantThanks @Andrew. I’ve listened to my own upbeat version of Summertime so many times I can’t seem to get into the groove of the original tempo. Can I call it artistic license? 🙂

lisadmhParticipantThanks smokealot! It would stress me out to play for people, but playing in a park doesn’t bother me. Nobody ever says anything. The sound doesn’t travel far outside worth all the ambient noise. I delude myself into thinking nobody can hear.
I like the outdoor uke. It’s great for the beach. I’ve been debating getting a little Enya so I can have a high G beach uke too, lol.

lisadmhParticipantThis song is all about the vibe. I tried hard to settle in and swing it, playing relaxed, which is still my challenge. How did I do? Thanks for the fun song!
lisadmhParticipantPretty! Do we get to hear a clip? Congrats on your new little guy!

lisadmhParticipantOk boss. Here’s me trying to be very intentional about dynamics. There are a few bugs. It’s hard to have total control over the volume of every single note. But, am I on the right track?
