robinboydParticipantI’m also attempting the performance version. I’ll be interested to see how you go with it. I’m finding it surprisingly challenging. Are you trying the Tobias’ right hand technique?

robinboydParticipantHi from across the ditch. I love playing my uke outside too.
robinboydParticipantHi Cloud Cactus. My wife has one. I don’t like to play it, partly because it is so hard to hold. There is no particular trick to it, but it gets easier with practice.
Are you trying to hold it while standing up or balancing it on your knee? Have you tried a strap?
robinboydParticipantGreat job Anne. That sounds pretty good with a high g.

robinboydParticipant@eyka321 – I’m so jealous. You are great! It took me years to get to that level.

robinboydParticipant@mr_moltes – I imagine it would be fixable to some extent. It wouldn’t be perfect, but you could at least get it stabilised, which would most likely help with the resonance. I have no idea how much it would cost, though. It would depend on where you lived (Iceland? New Zealand? Spain? I don’t know…) and what the shops in your area decide to charge.
robinboydParticipantI agree with Andrew. Just wait a few days before touching it.
robinboydParticipantI was sure they were around, but apart from Kanae926’s suggestion, I can only find tenors. If you wanted something ultra high-end, I’m sure you could get a custom-made one.
EDIT: I stand corrected. Look for “taropatch” ukes like this one.

robinboydParticipantSheffield is nice. I often worked as a tour guide before the pandemic, so I was up there fairly frequently.

robinboydParticipantHi from Hobart Ariana. There are a few Aussies on here.

robinboydParticipantI imagine you could sort of approximate the sound by plucking GAEC on a low G uke. I can’t get it fast enough, though. You might be able to use a slow up strum instead of plucking each individual string. It’s tricky, though, and I don’t have a good answer.
