This month I have been battling post-COVID fatigue and a broken finger. Luckily this piece only uses the thumb on the right hand, so I avoided using that finger, but it was hard to get the energy to practice.

robinboydParticipant@ninjajordan – That’s a challenging piece for your first video! Well done!

robinboydParticipant@gi_gi_ – because learning melodies tells your fingers what patterns work in different keys. That way you can fall into those patterns without having to think about it intellectually, because you don’t have time for that kind of stuff.

robinboydParticipantWell, it’s not your imagination. The same thing happens with the open high A string of my Gitalele. Both the low A and the D string ring after the high A is muted. I don’t have any advice, though.
robinboydParticipantThat’s how uke playing should be!
robinboydParticipant@tbb – Oh, I just noticed that you worried that your behavior “affected my poorly” or something. Not at all! Don’t stress! Like Jay said, everyone ❤️‘s you!

This month, work was insanely busy, so I decided to do something I had learned before. I was hoping to play it better than I had in the past, but unfortunately, I jammed my right index finger in the car door on Tuesday, and I had to adjust my technique significantly to play it at all, and even that’s a bit painful, so I didn’t practice as much as I would have liked, and it has issues. I’m just glad that I was able to submit anything at all, though.

robinboydParticipant@lhamilton – that sounds awesome!
robinboydParticipantHi @vinodkrishnanr. Just wondering, can you hold a conversation while strumming? I’m not sure if Ashley recommends it, but the idea is to get the strum so automatic that you can do other things at the same time without getting distracted.
robinboydParticipantHi Krysia,
Go to the “Ukulele Songs” page. And under “Song Categories” there is a “Search Songs” box. I hope that helped.
Robin
robinboydParticipantYour arrangement wasn’t simple at all! It’s way more involved than my little interlude, and it sounds really good.
Lacrimosa would certainly be a challenge. I’m taking it a bit easy this month, because I have lots of work, so I’m doing Stranger Things again.
robinboydParticipantNeptune the cat says thanks 🙂
