Hi Andrew,

It is really a challenge for me to learn this song. The first shuffle rhythm I learnt. I think my left hand strength is not strong enough to play the whole song; felt a bit sore at the end.

Like always, I will keep practicing next month as well plus it is a really fun song to play.

Did a 10day practice for the piece; trying to play it smooth, clear and in tempo.

I could see a bit improvement compare to the October one. But still need a lot of work. I think I will keep practicing this one.

I just come back from holiday and couldn’t bring uke with me this time. here it is:

1) Execution – improving the performance for Canon D;

2) Application – working on error/ smooth the whole play;

Hi Andrew, here is a practice piece. I have tried different of position and methods but just cannot do a Bb add6 with a little finger hammer on when my ring finger still on the fret.

anyway I am still working on middle part chord transition; I could get it all clear at tempo 60; trying to get it all clear at 75 now.

Here is the play for The Addams Family Theme. Losing a bit tempo at last, but it is really a fun piece to play with. I think I was around 105, to get to 120 do need a lot of work and practice.

I do not think i followed the plan due to lack of practicing time. just tried to play it along and tried to remember notes, chord progression, and not pressing too hard.

I think my problem is that I could play along with Tab in front of me, just follow the tab and play.

if I am not with tab, I am pretty much don’t know how to play unless I have the muscle memory. I understand basic of music theory and could just figure out the notes on each fret. fairly understand chord of made up by which note. but if it comes to chord in the song, I am lost. I guess as the piece is made of Melody, rythem and chord progression. I know it is all coming down to practice but is there a step by step or some specific exercise to get this clear and improve in a long term ? thanks

Here is my plan, Andrew; please comment or give some advice maybe? thanks.

1) Execution – Learn Canon in D rock class101 version. By end of month, hope I could do it in a smooth play; Understand more chord progression in different position with notes made up not only by memorizing it;

schedule: 1st week, get familiar with music; play along?
2nd, work on hard part and mistakes
3rd, working on chord and hear different notes within chord;
4th, do the performance.

2) Application – warm up using chord progression in canon D with basic rythem strumming or fingerstyle for 15 mins; sing along with similar chord progression but in different position on the fret; working on the piece.

3) Evaluation – try to do a video each week to see how those point to be applied.

Hi Andrew,

Here is version 2 after 2 weeks. I was intended to put this one to the same post to see the difference.

I have tried to work on fretting gentler and a bit vibrato. sometimes I feel not press hard enough to make a clear sound. well, I guess it all comes out from practicing.

Another question is that when is the timing to do a vibrato in a bar? I was pretty much doing it on feeling…

Hi Andrew,

Here is the challenge. great to have something not heard before and learning it through.I will try to practice till end the month and see if i could get improved version. this one is just a bit awkward.
