smokealotParticipantHi class,
it´s been a while but I didn´t want to miss a chance to win this beautiful uke! First time I actually hope to win 😉
Here comes the sun:
This was a practise take that sounded postable to me and I thought I might as well upload it and get some feedback before I keep practising it more.
Congrats on 500 lessons! Two years after I signed up I am still thrilled by the content. Looking forward to the next two years.
smokealotParticipantHi Charles,
have you already noticed the live lessons?
Probably my favorite one is this oneand my favorite quote from it is: “You should only compare yourself to your own enjoyment”.
There are a bunch of other live lessons on that topic, they sure helped me grow as a ukulele player.
Cheers 🙂
smokealotParticipantMore waiting to do! Baby is due on the 5th so probably even more 😉 or it will just have to get used to strumming practice.
smokealotParticipantThanks for the feedback!
I figured my timing was off but couldnt really get myself to use a metronom 😉September 2, 2021 at 2:55 pm in reply to: Participate in the September 2021 Member Challenge – Theme: Songs About Food #48188
smokealotParticipant“Songs About Food” is a fantastic theme! 😀 Makes me wanna think of more foodsongs.
smokealotParticipantOnly one and a half year?! That was inspiring!

smokealotParticipantHi class,
and greetings from Sweden. The geese in the background were suddenly starting to make quite the noice.
Etude no. 1 was the first on I learned and since it is so meditative I still like playing it.

smokealotParticipantI want to second that. I just cleaned the kitchen in no time listening to that impelling Wipe Out, thanks Brettboy 🙂

smokealotParticipantThat was fun to watch, great performance.
I guess it takes some nerves to film yourselfe in a public place.
How do you like your outdoor uke? I just recently treated myself to a tenor version which is following me everywhere 🙂 Little heavy, but the sound is suprisingly good.-

smokealotParticipantSummertime is such a cool song to play! Big thanks to Steven! Poeple around me will have to listen to it a lot more 🙂
I especially had lots of fun working on nuances since Steven played it so brilliantly – it really showed me how differently one song can sound. Not that I am close to beeing satisfied with my performence bit I had fun with it!
smokealotParticipantYes I am a premium member. Especially in the beginning I found it helpful – it was a real kick start. The courses (fingerpicking course!) are great to learn new techniques. As you get better one might do without it. But for me: I guess I stay premium for a while, an exciting sounding new strumming course was just announced (and if it is just to show some appreciation). If you can afford it I find it well spent money 🙂
I guess it makes it easier to learn all these new things.
smokealotParticipantHi angelsian,
Für Elise was the reason I landed here as well. It sounds like I was at the same skill level you are now and can wholeheartedly say: it is worth sticking around and working through the times when eveyrthing seems overwhealming (because this site has so much to offer).
I can recommend having a look at the monthly live lessons. They cover some useful topics and I feel like there is always a lesson for something you are wondering about at the moment.
Have fun and see you at the monthly member challenge 🙂
smokealotParticipantThat was great!
My opinion is that you should write more songs 🙂 I would play it too. -
