Hi. Almost missed the challenge.
Here is my island in the sun. Definitely not perfect but I had fun playing it and I made some videos during our holidays which I synchronized with island in the sun.so the video is not matching the chords and notes 🙂PS. This was all before the hurricane. I was shocked to see the pictures from Florida in the news 🙁

Hi
I tried Yellow Submarine – its a little bit rushed. But I got carried away during the playing.
Thank you for the arrangement.

Smoke on the water with some mistakes and a cutted sólo in the end (had to remove my cursing ;-))
I have a question regarding Come as you are. How is it possible to play this song without muting or buzzing strings? My finger doesn’t bend like that?

Hi.
My entry is the haunted theme.
I wanted to go for the Witcher, but I could not make it in time.
The problem that I have with the song is to memorize it correctly. The differences are to small or the passages to similar.
And of course to get it uo to speed without short breaks between the measures.August 16, 2020 at 12:05 pm in reply to: Participate in the August 2020 Member Challenge – Theme: Songs You Requested! #40369tric_o_tronic

and I am late.
Summer is not a good time for challenges. No time for practicing 🙂 I tried the Entertainer. No harmonics for now.June 20, 2020 at 5:14 am in reply to: Participate in the June 2020 Member Challenge – LAST CHANCE TO WIN Kanile’a! #38746tric_o_tronic
Participant@ Andrew: wow, thanks for the quick and detailed feedback. I chose Stairway to heaven because I thought it will help when you know the song.
I will try to keep the fingers more curved. I try to do it, but during the playing you get sloppy.
And regarding the timing and rhythm advise, when watching the video I heard it, but I wanted to post it because it was overall the best version I recorded. In my other videos I always make on big mistake or suddenly forget how the melody continues. And for me it is a quite long song to learn and remember, so I was happy I finished it.
And that it always one of the main problems: playing “fast” and making mistakes or way too slow but with less mistakes? And then also remembering the whole song while playing and recording. But I will definitely loop the sections and play them in time. I don’t know why but it’s hard for me to switch from the D chord to the F7M in time. when I am in time there is a muted or buzzing sound, when I try slower I am not in time anymore. And when I am still in time, suddenly there is a muted sound when I switch from the 8 to 5.

Hi,
here is my video for June. I tried Stairway to Heaven.
Messed up a little bit in the bridge, but tried my best.Maybe I will post some outtakes of my practice, because I was joined by my cat as a background dancer 😉

ParticipantAndrew, thank you for your feedback. I will definitely try, especially with this song. It’s not so easy to speed up your playing and let every note ring clearly.
I hope to show improvement next month.May 27, 2020 at 1:19 pm in reply to: Participate in the May 2020 Member Challenge – WIN a Kanile’a Tenor Ukulele! #38050tric_o_tronic

almost missed the May challenge. I just posted at star wars day and suddenly it’s end of May. 😒
So here is my try of out in the north. Not very good, but I don’t think that it will get any better.I definitely need a low g ukulele.

ParticipantThank you all. I will definitely look through that thread.
It was a challenging but doable arrangement, maybe because I know the melodies.
But there were some difficult parts which I couldn’t get better. So I just played what I could.
It was more of a spontaneous idea to do this, so I had 2 days to learn it.Regarding the pause, I am not sure if I wanted to pause or just forgot how to continue 😂 which is often a problem (especially when a video camera is near)
