AndrewKeymasterHi guys, here is feedback on folks who did 2nd takes:
brenna, cool feel! But my initial feedback was more so to apply the tempo change (rit and accel.) to only the 1 or 2 bars that transition Melody A to B and B back to A. I prefer that this song has a steady tempo, but this is a stylistic choice up to you.
rickkhan, better, but I’m still hearing a swing feel. You played the first four bars perfectly straight, the entire tune should encompass that feel. Try and play along with the tab player, 4 or 8 bars at a time.

AndrewKeymasterLOL, Kelly you should write, “I AM THE FIRST PREMIUM MEMBER” 🙂
AndrewKeymasterMy pleasure! Post a video after you practice a bit, happy to continue helping!
AndrewKeymasterHmm that chord should be a G min, as the Bb is the flat 3rd.
AndrewKeymasterSo your rhythm and timing sounds fine when just strumming. But adding the melody, that’s where things get challenging.
1) You are trying to add melody at same tempo you can strum at, but you are not there yet. Slow it down, and work on adding it in.
2) Make sure you understand how the melody hits fit into the rhythm:
3) Your right hand is extended out like a high 5. This creates an extra pause in time to shift into plucking position. I’d recommend strumming with a claw shape, as taught in this lesson.

AndrewKeymasterDon’t give up! Post a video here, happy to help!

AndrewKeymasterThanks for the kind words, Becky! And especially thanks for being an awesome part of our community 🙂
I hope you, and everyone, has a great TG!
P.S. I set you up with premium for the next month, enjoy!
AndrewKeymasterNice job, Alissa! I’d work a little on the timing in the intro. But I think the biggest focus should be on relaxing your feel. Sounds a little rigid, and that’s to be expected as you’re just getting it down.
Keep arranging! Super awesome you tackled this, it’s a toughie!
AndrewKeymasterWelcome! Glad to hear music is back in your life! Btw I’ve visited your awesome country, the Jungfrau is a memory I will cherish forever 🙂
AndrewKeymasterHi Lillah! Give Mike a call on Tuesday, he’ll be able to compare/contrast all those models for you 🙂
