AndrewKeymaster@morrieuke1 – I’d say you definitely succeeded especially in regards to pace and clarity. The new take is much more polished. Excellent work!
@leslieb – Beautiful playing, Leslie! At this point, what I’d like you to do is to take four bar sections and loop them. Focus on timing (keeping it steady). When you feel comfortable, start to piece it together.
@mac1984 – Excellent playing! The only suggestion I have is to target your practice on nailing the picking pattern each time in Melody B.
@olemartin – Beautifully played ๐
@jbmills07 – I really dig the rhythm change you threw in in the second half of Melody A. Excellent playing overall!
@jody_hendrickson – What a fantastic first entry performance! I’m looking forward to watching more from you ๐
@lisadmh – Great feel throughout and I like the slower tempo. Gives it a more lullaby-like quality ๐
@lynnzo – Great playing! Note clarity sounds great! I’d suggest working on transitions to eliminate pauses between sections. Also, double-check the music in bars 9 & 10.
@johanna2509 – Beautiful playing and thank you for the kind words on my other original ๐
@lalo_eer – Gorgeous tone on that instrument! Excellent performance!August 25, 2022 at 4:38 pm in reply to: Participate in the August 2022 Member Challenge: WIN Bamboo Ukulele! #53356

AndrewKeymasterIt’s not you lol. We have spam protection and it can be pretty aggressive. Unfortunately I don’t have the option to control what it does/does not mark as spam but I’d guess it marked it as spam since it was a lengthy post.
You can always email me if it disappears and I’ll get it approved ๐
AndrewKeymaster@potato_lady – Sorry! It got caught in spam, should be showing now ๐

AndrewKeymaster@potato_lady – Even under water it sounds beautiful ๐
@jedart – Excellent job! My only suggestion is to play along with me in the tab player or to a click to work on timing (keeping a steady tempo).BTW, I just filmed a lesson for our new series, mini lessons, which is launching soon. The lesson is called “Navigating the Fretboard” and it’s a cute little etude that jumps up/down the neck. Will be a good one to learn for extra practice with this. Plus, it uses a swung rhythm so it’s got an extra challenge FP Etude #13 doesn’t have.
@lhamilton – Bravo, Linda! Timing and feel where excellent! One tip, try using ring and middle for the 3 – 2 – 0 pull-offs. IMO, pinky makes it harder to get it clean since it’s the weakest finger.Great job on the workaround for the thumb! Works well!
@felixhchan – Excellent performance and your uke has a beautiful tone ๐
@ldarrow – Beautiful performance, Linda! My only suggestion is to try not to pull the 2nd string down in the FmM9. That way the note doesn’t go sharp.
@coffeemug – I loved it! Gorgeous playing with a view and ambience to match it ๐August 19, 2022 at 3:58 pm in reply to: Participate in the August 2022 Member Challenge: WIN Bamboo Ukulele! #53236
AndrewKeymaster@suekulele – I love this video, Sue! It’s like a snapshot of a perfect summer night. Great music with a beautiful pool. I’m sharing it in this week’s newsletter ๐
@clempek – Great performance! My only tip is to try not to lift up your finger immediately after you play the melody notes that jump up/down the A string. That creates a staccato sound and we want to have more sustain here. Try practicing at a slower tempo and see if you can get it to ring out more.August 18, 2022 at 8:24 pm in reply to: Participate in the August 2022 Member Challenge: WIN Bamboo Ukulele! #53228
AndrewKeymaster@madz_about_uke – Beautiful performance! My only suggestion is to try the down strums with your thumb. It’ll give them a sweeter tone than the nail of the index finger.
As for your question, have you tried a strap? That should help prop it up in place ๐

AndrewKeymaster@turkgoose – BIG improvement on Theme 3! Note clarity and timing is great throughout. Keep up the excellent work!
@qiuyan – Beautiful performance. Glad it was able to help ease your stress ๐
@gmflin8 – Lovely performance! For Melody A, you’re at the stage now where you can start boosting tempo. Try 5 or 10bpm faster and take it from there ๐For Melody B, target the transitions that had a little bit of hesitation. Overall, it was great! Keep up the good work!

AndrewKeymaster@lalo_eer – Brilliant first post! Bravo, playing was excellent! My only suggestion is to try to clean up the strum hits in Theme 3. They’re a little tricky rhythmically as they are syncopated at the end (4 &a). Try playing along with me in the tab player to strengthen your timing in this section.
@brettboy – Beautiful takes, Brett! Love the deep tone on the bari ๐August 15, 2022 at 11:13 pm in reply to: Participate in the August 2022 Member Challenge: WIN Bamboo Ukulele! #53212
AndrewKeymaster@katazumiri – Beautifully played and the tone on your uke is lovely ๐
@pysanky – It was a great take! Lovely playing ๐One suggestion, sometimes in the B Melody you pluck the G string strongly and it overshadows some of the melody/harmony. I’d suggest a lighter pluck like you did in the A Melody. That’ll yield a sweeter blend.
@gstriph – It def does have the DITW vibe ๐Performance was great! Only thing I’d say is keep working on the transitions in the B Melody. But overall is was excellent! Great job this month, Jerry.

AndrewKeymaster@marianne – Beautiful performance! There’s a couple transitions I’d work on getting smoother timing wise, but it was excellent overall and the tone on that uke is absolutely lovely ๐
And TY so much for the kind words Marianne!
