I’m okay with mine – not over the moon in love with it, but okay. It’s a plastic uke, so not like a nice solid wood one, but I’m certainly comfortable taking it out to the beach or the park, when one is allowed to do such a thing. It’s much better than the waterman, but mostly because the action is so bad on the waterman that it is unplayable. The outdoor has good action and is a good occasional play for travel purposes, IMO.

Number of frets is a good point when shopping for a soprano. My islander has 17, so I don’t have that problem, but many stop at 12.
I like my soprano best. It feels most comfortable in my hands, and of course stretch chords are easier. I’m not a tiny person. I have large hands for a woman, but no stretch.
Best would be to get your hands on one in a store to try it out, but that’s a challenge right now.
