lisadmhParticipantHi Andrew. Thanks for the survey and such a thorough video. We really don’t see just how much work goes into the site. Thank you for all you do for us. Really this is the best uke lesson site there is. Kudos.
A few people mentioned the idea of having an easier version of a hard song. I’m thinking it would be fun to try, of course counting it for two weeks of lessons. If it’s in the same key, one could maybe learn the easier version, then poke away at adding some frills fromthe harder version. I’d support a two week trial of it.
And remember to take time for you too. Self care first. Sounds like you work hard. We don’t want you burning out. ☺ Happy holidays to you.

lisadmhParticipantThanks Andrew and Rickey. So maybe I’ve been a little sloppy. I don’t love Christmas carols, but still want to rise to the challenge. Out comes the metronome…. 🎵

lisadmhParticipantHere’s my redo. It was a pretty easy fix, assuming I got it right, which is still an assumption.

lisadmhParticipantLol, too true Rickey. We’ll get this thing right with Andrew’s help. Take 78. 🙂

lisadmhParticipantUh-oh. I got a “good but”. ☺ Will work on fixing the timing. I like swing so prolly swing things when I shouldn’t. I’ll try to fix and repost. Thanks Andrew!

lisadmhParticipantThey purchase ukes for $40? Then I’ll donate $40 as soon as I get a song presentable. How many ukes can we get them, team rockclass101?

lisadmhParticipantCongratulations Crazydane! Let us know what you get!
Cool to hear everyone’s submissions.
Interesting, not a single person played I’m Yours, from what I saw. Usually the level one songs get a ton of submissions. Apparently I’m not the only one who struggled with it. Maybe it’s harder than it looks, Andrew? 🙂

lisadmhParticipantI’m not much of one to celebrate the holidays, but I will learn jingle bells for such a worthy cause. Great challenge set up, Andrew!
C’mon, y’all. Let’s spread the joy of the ukulele to kids in need.
And I *love* the member prize too. I’m already making my list (and vetoing my boyfriend’s suggestions) just in case I win – please, please, please!

lisadmhParticipantThanks Andrew, for the feedback and the pep talk. 😀😀😀
I will work on sustaining.
The fingering change was actually intentional though after experimenting. No matter how many times I try, I cannot get from the barred 5th fret down to the Am7. My fingers just can’t find the chord. This new way, I end up with my index on the right string and I have a fighting chance of finding the chord sliding down. Fair cheat?

lisadmhParticipantFur Elise.
As usual, it’s slow and had glitches, and sounds much better in my head. But the good news is that last time this song was featured it was way too hard for me, but this time I was able to make a little something of it. I must be learning!
Critiques welcome. I know that middle part pretty much sucks. I’ve looped it about a zillion times with little progress.
Thanks!
lisadmhParticipantExcellent news, so happy for you kit!

lisadmhParticipantHi Taimane. I’m just discovering you through your visit here to RockClass101 and I’m loving it. I especially adore the modern electric punch you add to old classics. Amazing and inspiring. Thank you for joining us here for a bit.

lisadmhParticipantThanks Andrew but it’s so bad I can’t even video it. Really I’ve got nothin, can’t do!
I’m going to stick with Fur Elise on this one as it’s much more doable for me even though it’s slow – you had to throw in that Am7… 🙂
I’m interested to see what others make of I’m Yours.
November 8, 2017 at 5:12 pm in reply to: Participate in the November 2017 Member Challenge – 4 FREE Uke Lessons #14509
lisadmhParticipantThanks Andrew. That makes sense. I can’t seem to do it though. With a chuck I don’t have to unfret my hand. Unfretting to mute then getting quickly back into position is proving tough. Low expectations for my performance this time around. 😀 would it be cheating to skip the single note muted up hit at least? Or to do the level 2 song way slow? It has a couple of tough chord changes that are slowing me down.
