Thanks Andrew for an amazing year! I have learned so much since joining the site. I think the idea of adding a female teacher would be a great asset to the teaching group. I also like the idea of more complex strumming and fingerpicking techniques along with vocals. I am very excited to hear about Gymnopédie No. 1. I really enjoy classical music (and many, many other genres too) so I can’t wait! Keep up the great content and can’t wait to see what is in store for the year!

I have been working on Deck the Halls and had a chance to record it over Thanksgiving in a setting other than a corner in an upstairs bedroom lol. I can’t wait to also start on The Christmas Song. It has been a year since I started Rockclass 101 and I have grown and learned so much since then! Thank you Andrew and the rest of the Rockclass team! Happy Holidays everyone! I also donated to the wonderful cause!

Thanks @Stephen for the feedback! Transitioning to 4 finger chords has always been a struggle, but it is starting to get easier. More practice!!!!

I went with Toss a Coin to Your Witcher this month. I really enjoyed learning this song and the arrangement is really beautiful. Matt did an awesome job 🙂

Thanks Chris! It felt easier to play with less wrist motion too. I love my Pono as well 🙂 You did a great job on your Etude – nerves are the worst and I have to work hard to slow myself down on some songs as well.

Brett – loved hearing it on your nicely decorated Baritone!

After reading other people’s feedback about wrist motion, and realizing I too was swinging away (hard not too with such a jolly song), I decided to give it another go paying more attention to my right hand form! Here is take 2 🙂

Learning the new technique of this triplet strum was like a tongue twister for my hands, but my hands eventually figured it out lol! I took 2 months off of challenges, but it is good to be back! Here is my Melodic Etude 🙂

Here is my entry of Freight Train. Definitely some missed notes and some timing issues, but I have had a cold on and off for over a week so in my mind it isn’t half bad! This song was challenging because of the 4 finger chords, but I feel like I am gradually getting better at transitioning to them by learning this song. Elizabeth’s lyrics to Freight Train are also so deep and beautiful!
