jkuleleMemberHi guys,
I AM A PREMIUM MEMBER.
Here is my performance of Deck the Halls. By no means perfect but out of time at this stage. Good luck to everyone who has entered and Happy Christmas. Looking forward to what 2021 has to offer on RC101.

jkuleleMember@Andrew, thanks for the positive feedback. I will keep an eye out for that. Possibly need to slow it down a little bit and practice a bit more before bringing it back up to speed.

Here is my recording of Toss a Coin to Your Witcher. Have wanted to learn this since it first popped up here so glad it was in this month’s challenge. A couple of little slip ups but I am happy enough with it. Looking forward to the December challenge!

Here is my melodic etude. I might be from Ireland but I’m not a fan of trad music, so I steered clear of St Anne’s Reel!
I love this technique. Will definitely try and incorporate it elsewhere.
jkuleleMemberHi guys I would be interested in learning an arrangement of Don’t Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult. It would be a good one for Halloween.

jkuleleMemberA couple of technical questions!
1. What are the differences between wound and unswound strings for low g and the pros and cons of each?
2. Are there any modifications needed to change between high g and low g or is it as simple as changing the strings?
Many thanks.June 30, 2020 at 7:06 pm in reply to: Participate in the June 2020 Member Challenge – LAST CHANCE TO WIN Kanile’a! #39234

Here is my attempt at Stairway to Heaven. I am not happy with this at all but it is midnight here and I am out of time. I had to do the solo separately then splice it in. It was a real struggle this month and then it got all the harder when I started recording!

jkuleleMemberWorking on Stairway to Heaven but having a tough time with the 272 stretch on a tenor. Is there an alternative option for this or will I just look into how to dislocate the little finger! 🙄
jkuleleMemberGreat job guys. Wonderful to watch. A brilliant way to stay occupied in the current climate.
Oh and the cat stole the show!!

Here is my video for Hone A Ka Wai. I have not played in the last 2 weeks so a bit rusty but wanted to get to video done before the end of the month and I wont get another chance before the weekend. Despite being in lockdown I have found myself quite busy with other things and not a lot of time for ukulele 🙁 New resolution to make more time for playing and practising!

Here is my attempt at White Christmas. Not my best effort on this one but the best recording I have of it and I am conscious the deadline is looming. I like playing this at a slower tempo as I think it sounds better. My memory failed slightly near the end so a bit of stop start there. Also I found the G to AM7 chord change a little tricky. My fingers seem to fall over themselves a bit but I have added it to my list of chord changes to practice.
Thanks to Andrew and the team for the site and all the lessons and tutorials. I really feel it has helped me improve as a player in the few months I have been here and I am looking forward to what 2020 has to offer.
Happy holidays everyone.

Here is my video for House of the Rising Sun. I found this easier than Sound fo Silence from last month. It was able to memorise the tune fairly early on and I think that was a big help because I could just focus on playing and not worry about reading the music. I am probably going through it a bit fast in this video (performance anxiety maybe!!) and not sure if I kept time. I am happy with it though and looking forward to next month.

I AM A PREMIUM MEMBERFairly new Premium Member here. Gave the sound of silence a try. First time venturing away from strumming but enjoyed the challenge. Still a way to go with this one but I will keep at it until I have it nailed. For now here is my submission. Feedback welcome.
