MemberHere is my recording of The Christmas Song. How could I resist learning to play my favourite Christmas song of all time! Not quite got there with the chorus yet but the best I can do before being ukulele-less for a few weeks.

MemberHi everyone, all your compositions are lovely, well done! I wish I had had time to do my own but exams got in the way.
So here is Grace’s Lullaby, which is a beautiful piece. I decided to record it only once, as usually I have to record multiple times to get one I’m totally happy with. My right hand form is still a work in progress too!

MemberThanks for the advice Andrew. The video feedback is really useful as I can see what you mean. I had noticed last month that my pinkie was almost ‘stuck’ on to the ukulele, so this month I was trying to not let it rest as much in the hope it’d help me to play more freely, but on watching back the video it just stuck out instead! So my aim for the December challenge is fix the things like you’ve shown me.

MemberHi everyone!
I’ve attempted Sweet Child O’ Mine this month. It is definitely the most challenging piece I’ve tried yet!
I spent too much time trying to perfect the first parts and then realized how much there was to learn, and it definitely shows in the outro where my playing is very broken.
As usual the struggle of trying to get it on video occured, so this is the best that I managed for the whole piece. Thanks Andrew and Evan for this amazing piece, I will certainly be practicing it more to get it better as it is such a great song!

MemberThank you Andrew for the feedback, I knew something was going wrong but couldn’t figure out what! I think I’d got an idea in my head of what it sounded like (which was wrong) and then couldn’t get away from playing that! I’ll definitely add counting rhythms to my practices and hopefully next months will be better.

MemberIt’s been a while since I last did one of these challenges! Hoping to get more consistent doing them now.
Here’s the Sound of Silence, which was a lovely piece to learn, and I’ve still got much to work on with it.

MemberThank you very much for your feedback Stephan. Those bars 45-47 were where I struggled most learning it.
I hadn’t thought to try it with a metronome – will give that a go and hopefully clean it up.Thanks Rick, I absolutely love the tune and I think that helped me get into the song.
