johanna2509Participant@becky7777 Where did you get the tabs for Fear Not This Night? I love that song, I learned the beginning on the piano a few years ago, but then some parts got so difficult haha. Maybe I should give it another try on the ukulele!

johanna2509ParticipantHey guys! Here is another Jurassic Park theme entry. The melody is so gorgeous! Busy month at university, but I always find the time to pick up my uke. My parents love this song too, after hearing me playing, they rewatched all of the movies haha 🙂
johanna2509ParticipantI don’t know if someone has already mentioned this:
I would love to have an arrangement of any studio ghibli song (Joe Hisaishi) e. g. The Name of Life or Always With Me from Spirited Away, The Merry Go Round of Life from Howls Moving Castle! All of them are so beautiful.Another video game music arrangement would be super cool too! Koji Kondo is my favorite artist from this genre.

johanna2509ParticipantI started right away with the Jurassic Park Theme and I already fell in love with this beautiful arrangement!

johanna2509ParticipantThank you so much for the feedback, Andrew!
The intro is trickier than it seems. I listened to it like a hundred times to get used to that feel. Additionally, it gets sloppy after some takes… I will write the rhythm over the tab and study your video again! Most of the time, I ‘ignore’ the counting, instead I try to imitate what I hear and see. But this didn’t work with the intro, so I will pay extra attention here.Nice that you send it to Bernadette! 😀

johanna2509ParticipantThank you, @jinajupiter!
Although this song is listed under the ‘Beginner’ series, the singing makes it much harder. But my problem area this time was barring the e and a string followed by reaching out with the pinky…
I think I also need more finger strength.
I am looking forward to your entries! Good job so far, everyone!June 15, 2019 at 3:33 pm in reply to: Participate in the June 2019 Member Challenge – LAST Chance to WIN a Kanile’a! #28239
johanna2509ParticipantHey, all!
This one was sooo difficult to record. I had a bunch of good takes, but then my brain freezes and I randomly forgot some words or my hands simply don’t know what they’re supposed to do anymore. Also in the take I uploaded, I hit a wrong note in the outro unfortunatly… but the rest is okay, so I choose this one anyways.
I wish I could sing… it’s more like whispering. However, I had still fun learning and playing it.
I am playing Bernadette’s signature uke, it is so cute and in my opinion it fits very well to this song.-

johanna2509Participant@lisamcc I am also working on Better Together. Singing and playing this song was difficult for me too, but I somewhat figured it out. I started with humming the lyrics and when I got comfortable with it, I added the actual words. After a while, I could sing the whole piece without really thinking about it. But I agree, especially the end of the bridge fits barely in one breath!

johanna2509Participant@robinboyd I think so too. After all it’s a uke challenge not a singing competition 🙂
@planetfink Loved the mouth kazoo! I don’t see anything embarrassing about it.June 5, 2019 at 3:12 pm in reply to: Participate in the June 2019 Member Challenge – LAST Chance to WIN a Kanile’a! #28060
johanna2509ParticipantRegardless of the fact, that I can’t sing that good, I love singing and strumming my favorite songs.
Is it okay to submit Better Together even if we can’t sing perfectly like Katie? Otherwise I will work on Wipe Out.May 26, 2019 at 5:11 am in reply to: Participate in the May 2019 Member Challenge – 2nd Chance to WIN a Kanile’a! #27571

johanna2509ParticipantHey all! This is my entry for the May Challenge. Again I had so much fun learning it, the song got stuck in my head so fast 🙂 Still it’s not perfect, especially towards the end I made a few small mistakes, because I was so nervous making it this far through the song without messing it up. I tried to avoid weird left hand shapes as mentioned in the last feedback, I think it is at least a little bit better than last time.
Have a nice day!April 27, 2019 at 7:43 am in reply to: Participate in the April 2019 Member Challenge – WIN a Kanile’a Tenor Uke! #26842
johanna2509ParticipantHello from Germany!
Here is my entry for the April Challenge. I’ve been playing the uke for about four months now and I was just a basic strummer when I discovered this website. I couldn’t get a single barre chord done properly, but I practised almost everyday and my fingers got stronger! By learning this song, my playing really improved and I had a lot of fun.
