    Hi,

    congrats on 500 lessons!
Dream a Little Dream was the first arrangement I learned for a monthly challenge back in 2019, so I thought I revisit it again.
(The barre chords were actually a bit more difficult on the tenor uke then on the concert on which I played it back then :))

    Thank you @recdog and @gi_gi_!
Yes, I agree, the slides are better in the second round 🙂

I chose Last Christmas this month. It was more difficult than I thought and recording 2 minutes without mistakes was not possible for me.
That’s why I cut the video together, so you can see multiple cuts in it.
I thought I would be able to play the whole arrangement in front of the camera because I can do it in front of my familiy 🙂
(I had Rudolph as a back up if I couldn’t do that haha)

    Hi all!

Had a busy month, but I’m glad I managed to record Etude in E minor today.
    So here it is.

(I am not happy with my right hand position. I try to control it, but when I get into playing and stop thinking about it, it always goes back to that “wrong” position (way too close to the bridge, fingers not as curled). I can’t concentrate on the notes I’m playing while thinking on the right hand position.)

I learned Moon River right after it came out, it is such a beautiful timeless song.
And I love Matt’s all thumb arrangements, so I was really excited to start practicing!

(Unfortunately the sound is a bit low, but when I turn it up afterwards, the noise gets louder too…)

    Hi!

I chose Chopsticks because I grew up with it on the piano. I also wanted to include a piano part, but I didn’t like the outcome of it… that’s why the video is cut where the piano part was.

I started learning Moon River this morning, it’s such a beautiful melody and arrangement. Thanks again RC101!

    Hi all,

this challenge was a special one for me. I was on vacation at the beginning of the month, so I had enough time to think about which arrangement I wanna choose.
I loved the Travis Picking since it came out but I don’t have a baritone ukulele and playing it on low G sounds in my opinion not as cool as the baritone. So I thought I’ll choose one of the easier ones.
After a while I noticed “well, I do have an instrument that has the tuning of a baritone ukulele, I just have to ignore two of the strings” lol.
I started practicing on guitar, but I am not used to it and those LARGE frets.
I struggeld with the barre and stretch chords. Also new for me was to record the audio with ableton and shoot the video later. That was also difficult, because the audio wasn’t perfect and the video has to match the audio somehow.
Oh, and I am playing it slower than Andrew, because of those difficult chord changing parts.

    Hi everyone!
I chose Aloha ‘Oe. When this piece was in the June challenge 2019 I tried learning it, because it
sounds so beautiful. But at that time I struggled so much with my concert uke, no premium membership and weak fingers.
I got frustrated and gave up. I was kinda scared when I saw this song again for this month lol. But I thought
I’ll give it a try and see whether I have improved. Definitely much easier on a tenor uke, with the tabs and the on screen tab viewer.
The high notes are still tricky ring out loudly though. The video below is not perfect, I hesitated once and made a small mistake.
I am still happy to be able to play it now 🙂

PS: I was excited when I saw that this month a Flight ukulele will be given away. I love my Flight tenor 🙂

Hi! Here is my version of Sleepwalk. I love this kind of low g arrangements!
Together with Can’t Help Falling in Love and Wonderful Tonight this one belongs to my favourite low g pieces; they sound so calm and peacefull.
I thought recording in my bed with our sleeping cat is a perfect place for this one.
I changed bar 16, because AJ’s version was to hard and I didn’t like the alternative of ignoring the low g string. What I did sounds not as good as the original, but seemed like a suitable compromise.

Thank you Stephen for the feedback! Yes, I know I hesitated between the two sections because it was the first day I actually practiced them together, which is definitely not a good idea haha. As this piece is not hard to remember, I will keep it in my repertoire and practice some more.

I am really not happy with my version of Come As You Are. I struggled so much with the barre chord Dm, especially with reaching with the pinky at the same time. The soprano size didn’t seem to help either. So I started practicing with the normal Dm for two weeks, but like Matt said, this isn’t possible with this song, atleast not with my finger flexibility. I had not much time this month too, which was definitely not enough to learn the barre Dm with the pinky stretch. This will take some time more, I guess. Congrats to all who managed to learn it!

I decided to post it anyways because I definitely progressed.

Just a small thing, the number in my username is missing a “9” at the end.
