lhamiltonParticipantWow! Thanks, Andrew — I really enjoyed the piece. Playing it on Baritone sounded lovely. I’ve used my little finger a lot on violin and bouzouki over the years and tend to just use it on uke, but it definitely can be harder and less successful to use for uke pull-offs and hammer-ons.

lhamiltonParticipantHi,
I tried The Explorer this month — it’s a really lovely piece! I tried using my thumb to fret the low strings but suspect my hand isn’t quite wide enough to do it since it hurt so I fiddled around with a different fingering.

lhamiltonParticipantYou’re welcome — I bought the same model and it arrived this past week so I’m learning it too.

lhamiltonParticipantHi,
This one doesn’t count since I’ve already posted, but it was such a cool arrangement that I really wanted to work on it and knew that, if I wasn’t facing sharing it, I likely wouldn’t work too hard on it.

lhamiltonParticipant@uku241, I used a capo too, but I have little silver removeable stick-on dots that I stick in the spots on the side of the neck to show where the dots would be if I weren’t using a capo (and they’re handy with my ukes that don’t have side dots). I bought a package of the dots at Amazon but suspect they’d be at stationery shops too.

lhamiltonParticipantWow — thanks Andrew (and the gi_gi_ and potato_lady)!
I’ll take a look at that lesson and continue on those barre chords.
