Hi Fellow Uke-Lovers, I took on Motown Medley this month. It was one of the hardest arrangements I’ve ever attempted. (Especially I Want You Back! So dang tricky!) It took me all month to get it barely playable at speed. I can now do high accuracy at 75% speed but I really wanted to do 100% speed… so the video your about to watch has “B grade” accuracy! Hope you like it and Big Thanks to Andrew, Evan and the other talented musicians that made this super fun lesson happen 🙂

    Hi Uke Friends!

This month I collaborated with, our mutual friend, the amazing @nthibode, on a cover of Moondance!

This post represents Nathalie and I’s submission for the monthly challenge.
*WE ARE BOTH PREMIUM MEMBERS 🙂 *

Nathalie provided a great video with smooth, jazzy ukulele, and a lovely vocal performance. Over that, I laid down the solo and a “bass” line to the best of my ability!

Nathalie, thanks again for suggesting this Collab! I’m really happy with what we created!

Andrew, Ashley, Evan and Stephen: Thanks for another great lesson and monthly challenge 🙂

Hi Uke Friends. I’m kinda “phoning it in this month” But I had to post something to keep my perfect attendance record for nearly three years of monthly challenges!

I love Pineapple Uke Blues and I noodle on it all the time. (I play it so much my kids grumble when they hear it.) (That C minor lick makes me SO happy every time I hear it.)

My first video of this tune can be found on my YT channel post 3 years ago on Sept. 6, 2018.

Today’s video I posted is a bit sleepier (and the outro on my bedroom recording has some ruff spots rhythmically).

Stephen! Thanks Man! Actually I did not play it in 6/8 on purpose 🙂 When i was first learning it I did follow the notation and count One,two, and, three, and, four, and. But I only watched Andrew’s video once and only glanced at the notation a few times after that. I was just noodling though it while thinking I was playing it correctly.

I can hear the difference now but only after You pointed it out! I’m playing like “one, two, three, and, four, five, six” ! But the measures that just have four quarter notes I’m still doing one.two, three, four . So, in a way my awesome 🙂 (but accidentally messed up) performance mixes the two time signatures. Would you say that’s correct?

Aloha Everyone and happy Summer to all of my fellow Northern Hemisphere uke lovers!

Andrew, I’m having a hard time choosing a song this month. Will you please read my thoughts below and then give me your “vote” about which tune you think I should try learning this month?

For the June 2019 member challenge I learned Aloha Oe. It’s a great arrangement and I can play it pretty good but I bet I could play it a little better now.

    Here’s that performance:

I also already know how to play James Hill’s Summertime arrangement (Here’s a video of that performance:

But Your Arrangement looks pretty Sweet too!

I’m also intrigued by wipe out and summertime blues. They both look fun but maybe not much of a challenge for me at this point. But maybe fun is what I need this month? I do have a lot of visitors and plans this month.

So you can see why I’m having a hard time choosing a song.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Fellow Ukulele Players! I am a Premium Member.

I took on JUMP this month. A great arrangement of a fun song! Big Thanks to Evan and Andrew 🙂

I never fully mastered the solo (as you will plainly see if you watch my video) but I’m getting close. I did get pretty good at playing the skeleton of the song. I practiced with the backing track and could do it with decent accuracy but I decided not to use it for my video because I would always lose the beat at least once and have to play catch up. So I present this video “at my own (fairly steady) pace.” Hope you like it!

Thanks! @lyndallk! I recorded the videos with my phone. first the guitar, then I listened to that while I made a video of the uke. I used imovie and it was very tricky to get the two videos to sync up and I’m certain they’re still not exactly in sync… just as close as i could get them and still be happy with the video. imovie lets you do “picture in picture” with two videos. let me know if you have any other questions 🙂

    *** Note – Don’t give me two entries! ***
I already submitted this month with 2 Chord Jam (no. 2) !

    Hi Uke Stars!

I also studied Matt’s awesome Take 5 lesson this month and wanted to share my best take in a guitar and uke duet.
